Jim Harrison

I have many fond memories of Jim, whom I've known for decades—first as my brother’s gym teacher, and later as his next-door neighbour as well as being the father of my friend, Ricky.

Jim lived life to the full. His sense of humour, love for travel, passion for sports, and the odd drink ;) were second to none. Popular and gregarious, Jim was fun to be around, whether on the slopes, at a bar, or in his home. His face would light up with a broad smile whenever he saw you, eager to share his latest adventures, whether it was a long-distance bike ride or a road trip. He packed so much excitement into his retirement years.

Jim will be deeply missed, but I’ll always cherish the joyful memories he left behind for so many of us.

I first met Jim when I applied for a teaching position at Westcliff. I needed accommodation and he became my landlord. What a gent. He introduced me to… The Grand, the tennis club, old Leigh town for the switching on of the Christmas lights (and the drinks that were on offer), a trip to Italy, a number of ski trips, etc, etc. A wonderful person, respected by all who met him and will be truly missed. Thanks for the memories Jim.
