FIREFIGHTERS were called to attend a car blaze in Basildon seconds after extinguishing a car fire in Vange.
Basildon fire crews received a call for an incident at Chestnut Road, Vange, at 2.50am today.
One crew attended the scene, under the Pitsea flyover, and wore breathing apparatus while extinguishing the car using one hose reel.
Witihn seconds of the blaze being extinguished at 3.24am, another call came in for an incident at Kent View Road, Basildon.
One crew were tasked to extinguish the car, a silver Ford Fiesta, and wore breathing apparatus while using two hose reels.
The fire was put out by 3.50am.
Both incidents, which had no reported casualties, are being treated as suspicious.
A spokeswoman from Essex Police said: “Police were advised of two car fires in Chestnut Road and Kent View Road, which happened between 3.30am and 4am. A silver Ford Fiesta was damaged in the Kent View Road fire. The make of the vehicle in Chestnut Road is not known. Anyone with information is asked to call Essex Police on 101.”
