A MOTORIST is furious after thieves stole the bumper from his car.
Graham Dilliway, 37, of The Picketts, Canvey, is facing a repair bill of almost £400 after thieves unbolted the front bumper and number plate from his white Ford Fiesta.
Mr Dilliway said: “I heard a cracking noise, so got up to look outside, but didn’t see or think anything of it.
“It was only when I went to go to work on Monday I saw it had gone.”
Mr Dilliway says he hopes to get a secondhand bumper to replace the stolen one.
It is the second such theft this summer. A front bumper and grille were taken from a silver Ford Fiesta in Southend in May.
Mr Dilliway added: “I’ve looked into it and I think it seems Ford drivers are being targeted.”
Police are investigating the theft, between 11pm on Sunday the following day.
Anyone who has any information about the theft, or who is offered car parts under suspicious circumstances, is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
