A POST office is shutting for a revamp and will reopen next month.
The post office, in the convenience store, at 23 Eastwood Boulevard, Westcliff, will open at 1pm on Monday, September 1, and will offer an improved service.
Customers can access a wide range of post office and mail services, including special delivery, local collect, home shopping returns, online banking, cash deposits and withdrawals.
Post office services will be available during the store’s opening hours, 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 1pm on Saturday, an extra 14 hours a week than before. The post office will close at 5.30pm on Wednesday, August 20.
Kevin Shepherd, area manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking, because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident this newstyle post office at the heart of the community will be popular.
“The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme that is enabling us to continue investing in the post office network and to map out a bold growth strategy through to the end of the decade.”
