A DEVELOPER is helping to bring Christmas cheer to pensioners in Hawkwell.
David Wilson Homes has donated 160 parcels of tea and shortbread to members of Hawkwell Parish Council, who are putting together hampers to hand out to pensioners who live alone.
Jason Colmer, regional sales director at David Wilson Homes, said: “We always consider ways we can contribute to the communities where we are building new homes so we were very pleased to be able to donate gifts to the hampers for the local pensioners in Hawkwell.
“It is a great initiative to be part of and one which I hope will bring joy to people this Christmas.”
Laureen Shaw, from Hawkwell Parish Council, said: “We are grateful for the donation of tea and shortbread from David Wilson Homes which I’m sure will be greatly enjoyed by everyone who receives a Christmas hamper.
“We wanted to offer something which would bring Christmas cheer to local pensioners who live alone and the hampers have proved extremely popular over many years so we are delighted to be giving them away again this festive season.”
David Wilson Homes is currently building new homes at Clements Gate, on Thorpe Road, Hawkwell.
