Exciting plans for Basildon Town Centre including a 10 screen cinema and a host of new restaurants have taken another step forward.
A planning application has been submitted for Basildon’s East Square following the approval of funding for the scheme in December last year.
Cllr Alan Ball, Basildon Council’s Chairman of the Regeneration and Environment Committee, said: “This development is a great opportunity to boost the local economy and provide new jobs for local people.
“We want East Square to be a destination of choice rather than convenience and are committed to creating a vibrant town centre with a viable night-time economy.”
The proposals include a 10 screen cinema, six units allocated for restaurant use as well as enhancement to the public realm.
