A CAR fire caused a road in Westcliff to be closed overnight.
Emergency services from Essex Police, Essex Fire Service and community safety officers from Southend Council attended North Road in Westcliff last night.
Pictures from the scene show the fire on the car billowing out smoke across the street.
The police closed off the road temporarily while the fire was put out by firefighters.
Officers are now investigating the fire.

A spokesman for the Southend Community Safety Partnership said: "Near the end of shift and a call to Westcliff to assist with a temporary road closure as a vehicle was on fire.
"@ECFRS on hand to put out whilst @EPSouthend made enquiries."
Essex Police have been contacted for comment.
