A teenager who died in a car park fall has been named by loved ones as friends raise thousands of pounds in hours.

Police and ambulance crews were alerted shortly before 8.45pm on Wednesday night, following concerns for the welfare of a man at the car park at Victoria Plaza, off Southend High Street. The young man - named by friends as 18-year-old Kacper Ksiazek - died after falling from a car park in Southend town centre on Wednesday night.

An online funding page has been launched to raise £5,000, as close friends paid tribute to the man they describe as “such a massive soul”.

Friends on the page have written: “In such a difficult time we ask for any help we can from family, friends or anyone that is willing to support the funding towards a send-off and funeral for Kas.

“Kas had such a massive soul, filled with such an energy that could fill a room with laughter reducing people to tears with the stuff he come out with.

“He had the strongest heart for his friends and his close family.”

The Echo has opened a book of condolence for peole to pay tribute to Kacper. You can leave your messages here

Appealing for help, friends say: “Words cannot even touch upon the feeling you get after losing a friend or family.

“We would like to ask for the help of any friends, family or anyone that could help with raising the funds for Kacper’s send off and funeral costs.”

So far more than £2,100 has been raised towards the target, from over 130 donations.

Tributes, flowers and candles have been left at the site of the tragedy.

Online tributes also urge others to check up on their friends and family and say a change in behaviour is not needed before checking on a loved one.

They added: “Fly High Kacper, Keep Playing Ball Up There. Look Down Upon Us Always.”
