A road in Grays has been forced to close this afternoon after the appearance of a sink hole.
Rectory Road has been shut in Little Thurrock "as a precautionary measure" following the appearance of the sinkhole.
Thurrock Council issued the warning to drivers at about 12pm.

A spokesman said: "Our Highways Engineers have been forced to close Rectory Road, Grays, as a precautionary measure following the appearance of a sinkhole.
"Teams are working with specialists from utility companies and emergency services to assess the safety of the road.
"It will remain closed while this work takes place"
Essex Highway's live map appears to show the closure is between Chadwell Road and Boscombe Avenue.
