AN AIR ambulance and emergency services were rushed to Canvey to respond to a medical episode.
Just after 11am yesterday (August 8), a team from the East of England Ambulance Service descended to a private residence “just off Furtherwick Road” where they met with two community first responders.
A short while later, a standby Essex and Herts Air Ambulance touched down in the King George V playing field before heading to the scene of the casualty.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.09am on Tuesday, August 8 to a medical emergency at a property in Canvey Island.
“Two community first responders were first on scene, followed by two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
“The patient was transported by road to hospital for treatment.”
In the area at the time of the air ambulance landing in the park was Castle Point MP Rebecca Harris.
After stepping out of the St Luke’s Hospice charity shop, in Furtherwick Road, she saw the helicopter flying overhead before descending on the ground space.
She said: “My thoughts and prayers are with the patient, and I hope they make a full recovery.”
