A LARGE fire has broken out as firefighters are tackling a blaze at a south Essex storage yard.
Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in Dock Road, Tilbury.
When firefighters arrived they reported the fire is affecting an area used to store fridges for recycling, scrap metal and a 40 foot container with bikes and plastics inside.
There is also a number of cylinders on site.
Essex Fire say the incident is ongoing and more details "will be added shortly".
They have urged anyone in the area to avoid the site.
A spokesman for Essex Fire said: "If you live in the area please close your windows and doors due to the volume of smoke.
"Please avoid the area if you can, parts of the road may be temporarily closed so fire crews can deal with the incident safely."
