Boom Battle Bar Southend launches with vibrant event

Boom Battle Bar opened it’s third Essex venue in Southend on Thursday, October 12, with the chain already having spots in Lakeside and Chelmsford.

The bar is based within the former Tangs Buffet Unit in Victoria Shopping Centre and the entire staff is ecstatic with the launch.

Richard Harpham, CEO of Boom Battle Bar, said: “We’re so excited to be opening in Southend.

“This epic venue is packed with everything you could need for the ultimate night out; adrenaline pumping games, incredible drinks, a live DJ on the weekends.

“We're sure the people of Southend are going to love it.”

We attended the PR launch event and were greeted by kind and bubbly staff who provided non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.

Staff told us what was available as the music blared in the colourful venue, making for an eventful evening.

Upon heading into the venue, you will first encounter augmented reality darts which is described as one of Boom Battle Bar’s most popular games.

The bar combines darts with ‘state-of-the-art’ technology incorporated in different game modes.

Up to eight players can join in for an hour or 90 minutes, with the latter including a bucket of beer, three chicken dishes and three side dishes.

Augmented reality axe throwing has game modes including true monopoly, sniper, throw royale, traditional bullseye and duck hunt.

Other classic options at Boom Battle Bar were American pool, crazier golf, shuffleboard and private karaoke booths.

Jamie Owen, bar operations and development manager, added: “It’s brilliant that we’ve opened, everyone has worked really hard in the past few weeks to make sure everything is settled

“For us it’s about staying consistent and it’s been really enjoyable with the bartenders we’ve go there who are showing great potential.”

Boom Battle Bar also offers a great selection of food and drink from chicken tenders and jalapeno poppers to zombie cocktails.

Overall, the venue offers a great night out with friends to play an assortment of games and beverages to enjoy.
