Delays are building heading into south Essex during this evening rush hour as one of the Dartford tunnels have been closed.
The Essex-bound east bore tunnel at Dartford is closed due to a van fire and crash, according to Essex County Council's traffic control, with Kent Fire and Rescue service at the scene.
Traffic is building on approach to the tunnel.
A National Hignhways spokesman said: "If you're heading A282 northbound, please be aware there are long delays on approach to the Dartford Crossing.
"East bore tunnel is closed due to van fire. Delays of up to 45 minutes, five miles of congestion almost back to M25 junction 3."
