A 17th century pub was “busier than ever” as bosses held a grand launch party for their new beer garden.
The Punch Bowl pub in Paglesham welcomed hundreds of customers through its doors on Saturday, much to the delight of owners Robbie and Sally Beaumont.
The popular pub has gone from strength-to-strength since re-opening in January, six years after it closed due to a “lack of business”.
Robbie and Sally have carried out an extensive renovation at the Grade II listed building and the beer garden, boasting an outside bar and dozens of tables, is their latest investment.
Robbie toasted the business’ latest success, saying: “Our launch party was an absolutely amazing day.
“There was something for everyone and the vibe was just excellent.“We had so many customers and the place was buzzing from 12pm all the way through until the late evening in our beautiful beer garden.
“The sun was shining and Paglesham was busier than it has been for many, many years! Thanks to our locals, friends and family for helping us have our best weekend ever.
“The Summer Punch Bar is now open every week.”
The launch gave the pub its “busiest weekend ever” as locals flooded the garden containing a bouncy castle and live music.
Sally and Rob have also revealed their plans to open a new barbeque and grill on Saturday, June 22.
The 17th century pub also host events such as wine tastings and weddings and are set to show all of England’s Euro games live.
They also have reached a deal with Wibblers Brewery, in Southminster and Black Box Brewery, in Southend, to sell cask ale for just £3.50 throughout the summer.
Reflecting on their recent developments, Sally said: “We were absolutely ‘punchbowled’ over by the support and attendance of those in our locality and beyond.
“The turnout was excellent and everyone truly had an amazing time.
“We are so looking forward to hosting more events here in the coming months.”
