AN ENGLAND superfan has blanketed his house with more than 160 flags ahead of the upcoming Euros.
Lee Johnson took more than two days to decorate his house in Falstones, Laindon, in preparation for the competition.
The 38-year-old is carrying on his tradition from the 2021 Euros when he decorated the house with 56 flags to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity.
This year, Lee is looking to raise £500 for charity Young Minds, which provides mental health support for children and young people.
The flags and bunting have already started to attract the attention of passers-by with some stopping to take pictures.
Lee said: “I’ve got loads of compliments and support for what I’m doing and if we can support the charity in anyway that would be incredible.
“I think it is really important for us to spread awareness around mental health for young people.
“People are always welcome to come and take pictures outside the house and we also have a donation bucket which they can use to help us reach our goal.”
Along with supporting a great cause, Lee added that the decorations have also got him even more excited for the tournament.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to the whole thing after the devastating loss last time. I really think we can win the whole thing.”
The 2024 Euros are set to kick off this weekend with Germany taking on Scotland in the opening fixture tomorrow.
England will begin their campaign on Sunday, June 16, against Serbia looking to redeem themselves after a heart-breaking final loss on home soil in 2021.
Gareth Southgate’s side will be under pressure to deliver after a poor showing in a friendly against Iceland.
The Three Lions will also aim to finish top of their group which also features Denmark and Slovenia.
It was announced last night that the Prince of Wales is to travel to Germany to cheer on the England men’s football team as they face Denmark in the Euro 2024 tournament.
William, president of the FA, will watch Gareth Southgate’s side in their second Group C stage match at the Frankfurt Arena on June 20 – the day before his 42nd birthday, Kensington Palace announced.
