New data has revealed which GP surgeries in south Essex have the highest and lowest rated receptionists.

As part of the 2024 GP Patient Survey, residents were sent questionnaires and asked to rate their practice’s reception and administrative team, as well as how easy it is to contact them on the phone.

The England-wide survey provides practice level assessment of patient experiences at their GP surgeries.

Across south Essex, Warrior Square Surgery in Southend was rated the GP surgery where it is easiest to get through on the phone and the receptionists are the most helpful.

At the other end of the table, Thorpe Bay and Shaftesbury Avenue Surgery was the surgery where the lowest percentage of patients said it was "easy" to get through on the phone. However, more than 60 per cent of patients found the receptionists helpful.
