THE fire service have issued an update after a large van blaze caused long delays on the A127 this afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the fire on the A127 London-bound, near Woodside Garden Centre, at 11.54am today as a van was seen engulfed in flames.
The road was partially blocked while emergency services were on the scene, causing long delays both ways on the major road between Fairglen Interchange and Rayleigh Weir.
The fire service has now confirmed the blaze was put out by 12.17pm, in under half an hour.
An Essex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Firefighters were called to a vehicle fire on the A127 near Woodside Garden Centre at 11.54am.
"They extinguished the fire by 12.17pm."
