A LUCKY winner has bagged a dream car and cash prize - for the second time in two years.

James Coulthurst, from Billericay, won a Volkswagen Golf R worth more than £43,000 and £50,000 in cash in BOTB's Dream Car Competition.

This is just two years after he won a Mercedes A45S Plus worth more than £58,000 and a £20,000 cash prize in the same competition.

Mr Coulthurst said: "My friends and family think it's ridiculous that I have won twice and are asking me how I do it.

"I certainly didn’t consider myself a lucky person prior to winning the first time."

BOTB presenter Christian Williams surprised the cyber security analyst with the news at his home.

He revealed the new car parked nearby, and the cash prize stashed in the boot.

Mr Coulthurst said: "I think my reactions to winning were very different.

"This time, I was obviously still in shock, but I think I was more visibly excited."

Mr Coulthurst has big plans for the cash prize.

He said he would use some of the money to pay off his cat's vet bills, and spend the rest on modifying his new car.

He added: "I sold the A45S and got a Ford Mustang, but only had that a couple of months, as unfortunately, our cat got hit by a car, and we had a huge number of vet bills to pay for, so I had to sell that.

"I’ll use some of the money to help pay off the loan for the vet bills, and spend some modifying this car with Dynamic Chassis Control and leather seats."

BOTB's Christian Williams said: "To win once is fantastic, but to win a second time is an incredible achievement and I couldn’t be happier for James.

"It sounds like he has always wanted to modify his own car, and he now has £50,000 to do just that."

BOTB's Dream Car Competition allows people to buy tickets for the car they want to win and then play 'spot the ball'.

An independent panel of judges then decides the winner.
