MINNIE and Mickey Mouse embraced the Star Wars theme as families helped raise more than £10,000 for Havens Hospices.
More than 500 people took part in the second annual Havens to Havens Walk which saw participants trek from Little Havens children’s hospice, Thundersley, to Fair Havens hospice, Westcliff.
For those who didn’t quite fancy walking the 10-mile route, some could choose to take part in a lesser three or five mile stroll, with minibuses provided by the charity to bring walkers back to the start.
Many walkers dressed in colourful costumes to brighten up the event, while others simply used the walk as a way to get the entire family out together.
Claire Southgate, Havens Hospices event fundraiser, said: “This is the second event of its kind we have held and it appeal to lots of people.
“We would like to say thank you to everyone who took part and to our volunteers who marshalled the route.”
