YOUNG and old bonded over a chat about fashion.
A group of fashion students at Southend Adult Community College visited Cascades warden assisted flats on the Woodgrange estate, Southend.
The weekly visits are an opportunity for the teenagers to find out about bygone fashions and exchange ideas about clothes of today.
One resident Ellen Lee, 89, showed off a dress she made recentlym despite being registered blind.
Flats manager Lorraine Shearer said: “It’s been really interesting for my tenants, as well as the young girls.
“They are getting an insight into what elderly people like to wear, what they used to wear and what they think of today’s fashions.
“The residents have loved it. It’s good for them to get involved with the younger generation and keep up with the times.
“They all got on so well and had great fun.”
