A MOTHER was left in tears after burglars stole all the photographs of her newborn child.
Crooks broke into the house of Emma and Charles Bentley and stole a laptop containing the pictures of their 14-week-old daughter Mia.
They smashed their way through a back window at the house in Florence Road, Canvey, and ransacked the bedroom.
A haul of sentimental lockets were taken which had been given to the Bentleys by relatives who have since died.
But the most upsetting loss was the precious photographs.
Mrs Bentley, 34, said: “I was angry and upset about the jewellery because that would have been for Mia when she grows up.
“But I didn’t cry until I found out they’d taken the laptop as well and we realised every picture of her is on there.”
The laptop also included all the photographs from the couple’s holiday in Egypt, in 2006, when Mr Bentley, 35, proposed.
Mrs Bentley said: “Whoever did this clearly just wanted gold jewellery and they probably just noticed the laptop as they were leaving.”
Police are appealing for people to come forward if they saw anything suspicious in the area between 9.30am on December 27 and 6.30am on December 29, while the Bentleys were away visiting family.
