A KEY witness is being sought by police after a woman was killed in a car crash.
Shirley Watkins, 74, died at the scene when she collided with an old-model red Porsche 911 Carrera on the Southend-bound carriage way of Eastern Avenue.
The accident happened near to the junction with Bournemouth Park Road, where the victim lived, at about 1.30pm on Friday.
Police need to speak to the occupants of a blue car that stopped at the scene as they may hold vital witness information.
A 65-year-old man from Southend has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and bailed until May 17 pending further enquiries.
The car occupants, believed to be two men, are asked to contact Pc Noel Jeffery at Rayleigh Road Policing unit on 0300 333 4444.
