A SCHOOLBOY needed specialist surgery after being dragged along a pavement in an assault.
Police are now appealing for information about the attack, in an alleyway off Victoria Avenue, Rayleigh, shortly after 5.30pm on Saturday, March 6.
A 15-year-old boy, from Rayleigh, was dragged along the pavement near to the entrance to the bridal path which leads to Sweyne Park.
He suffered severe ear injuries and serious grazing to various parts of his body which required specialist surgery at Broomfield Hospital. He is now recovering at home.
Three people from Rayleigh have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the attack.
A 14-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man are all currently on police bail until Saturday, May 8, pending further enquires.
