NINE men have been arrested and two injured after a 30 person street fight in Southend.
The trouble started shortly after 2.30pm today in Wilson Road and one man was taken to hospital with a stab wound.
Broken glass littered the streets after the violence which left one man in hospital.
Passers by described a crowd of young men running down the cliffs covered in blood.
Police patrolled the area between Wilson Road and Alexandra Road with horses and dogs after the fight.
Eight men aged 20, 20, 21, 39, 37, 22, 22 and 21 from the Brighton area were arrested for public order offences and assault.
A 19-year-old was arrested and cautioned for a public order offence.
One person was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the arm and another person was checked by paramedics at the scene but did not need to go to hospital.
Police are linking the fight to the football match between Southend and Brighton.
