FIREFIGHTERS said the High Street in old Leigh was like a “skating rink” when a barrel of cooking oil split after falling off the back of a lorry.
One crew based at Leigh Fire Station were called out to deal with the incident at 6.50am this morning.
The firefighters spent an hour washing the slippery oil away and making the street safe.
