A YOUTH football club are fearing for their future after a lorry load of rubbish was dumped in their car park.
Steve Jones, 41, founder of Langdon Pumas, was left devastated when he received a phone call yesterday afternoon telling him about the huge pile of debris.
The gate to the McLaren Sports Ground, in Dunton Road, Laindon, and club signs have also been vandalised.
The culprit appears to have taken cutting equipment to a height restriction barrier before a lorry smashed its way through the entrance to the site and emptied up to 20 tonnes of industrial rubbish, including carpet cuttings.
Mr Jones, a former West Ham footballer, said: “It’s really not good for us, we are already under pressure. It’s in doubt whether we are going to be able to play this weekend, I have got a lot to sort out before then.
“This is a big job and it certainly seems to have been planned. Someone has done this to save themselves a few grand, but financially it could ruin this football club.”
