FIREFIGHTERS across Essex helped tackle a huge blaze at a container company close to the junction of the M25 and A127.
A security guard on a routine check at the company, based at Codham Hall Interchange, raised the alarm just after 12.30am on Sunday.
Crews from Brentwood and Orsett were originally sent to the scene but firefighters from Basildon and Chelmsford were called for back-up after it became apparent 12 lorries and 100 lorry tyres were involved in the incident.
A total of 45 firefighters from across Essex and London were involved in the operation.
They spent almost two hours tackling the flames but remained at the scene until gone 5.30am to dampen down and ensure the area was safe.
No roads were affected by the blaze.
A fire service investigation will now take place to establish the cause.
