ROYAL Mail has today confirmed the closure of delivery offices at Shoebury, Leigh and Rochford.
The changes are part of modernisation of the service across the country.
More than 8,000 people signed a petition to keep Leigh delivery office open.
In a statement Royal Mail said the relocation of Shoebury delivery office to the mail processing unit in Southend will go ahead on June 3.
It adds that Leigh will also move to Southend on July 1 and Rochford delivery office and deliveries for Canewdon will move on July 28.
It said: "This follows detailed planning and consultation with our unions and staff to ensure a smooth transition for our people, our operation and our customers.
"Customer collection arrangements are in place for many undelivered items at Great Wakering and Canewdon Post Offices."
People can also use the free redelivery service.
