HEYCROFT Primary School have been crowned the Southend district Year 3 and 4 boys football champions.
They beat Bournes Green School 1-0 in the final after a fantastic competition that involved 18 teams.
But the Heycroft boys had to rely on the lottery of penalties to make it past their semi-final encounter with Our Lady of Lourdes School.
Leigh’s Our Lady of Lourdes School got some consolation by winning the third-place play-off match, beating Alleyn Court 1-0.
The tournament was hosted by Alleyn Court Preparatory School.
Participating schools: Earls Hall, Temple Sutton, Alleyn Court, Bournes Green Junior, St Michaels, The Federation of Greenways Schools, Edwards Hall Primary School, Thorpedene, Sacred Heart School, Our Lady of Lourdes, Fairways, Barons Court, Westborough, Heycroft, Hamstel Juniors, Bournemouth Park, St Mary’s Prittlewell and Thorpe Hall.
