JAKUB Sokolik is back at Southend United on trial.
The centre-back had two separate loan spells with the Shrimpers in 2014.
And, following his release from Yeovil Town, the 22-year-old is now back trying to impress boss Phil Brown.
“Jakub is back with us on trial and would have played at Braintree on Saturday if the game had not been called off,” said Brown.
“From there we would have made a decision about taking him to Spain but we know all about his capabilities and hope to be able to sort out another game for him to play.”
Blues had been due to face Braintree Town at their Cressing Road base tomorrow.
But the Shrimpers are now looking for alternative opponents after the game was called off due to the state of the pitch.
John White and Stephen McLaughlin had both been due to return from injury in the match.
