SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown expects goalkeepers Ted Smith and Mark Oxley to both be fit for the start of pre-season.
Oxley has yet to figure in 2017 for the Shrimpers after suffering two serious elbow injuries while Smith missed the final seven games of the season with a wrist problem.
However, Brown believes the duo will soon be in action.
“Ted and Mark are both making good progress,” said Brown.
“Mark was diving around the place the other day testing things out before going away to Australia and Ted has had his cast taken off now so he should also be fit for pre-season.
“It will be good to have them both back.”
Oxley made 24 appearances for the Shrimpers last season with Smith playing 21 times.
