JODY Brown got off to a great start as Billericay Town boss, beating Slough Town 2-1 at New Lodge.

Freddie Grant opened the scoring for the away side eight minutes in, but Brown’s side equalised just five minutes later, Conrad Kweku Lucan on target.

And Town completed their comeback five minutes before full time, as Frankie Sutherland struck for the hosts to send them up to 18th in the standings.

In the Isthmian Premier, East Thurrock United lost 4-1 away at Carshalton Athletic.

Kenny Aileru levelled the game for the Rocks, just a minute after Dan Hector opened the scoring for the home side.

But from the 75th minute, it was one-way traffic.

Lewis White, Harry Ottaway and Paris Hamilton-Downes all netted to sink Paul Martin’s men.

In the Isthmian North, Canvey Island extended their lead at the top of the table with a 3-1 victory over Aveley.

Harrison Chatting, Conor Hubble and Matthew Price were all on target for Mark Bentley’s side.

Great Wakering Rovers achieved lift-off from the foot of the table, as they were replaced by Hullbridge Sports who they defeated 1-0.

Ashley Nzala scored the solitary goal in the match.

Lastly, Basildon United played out a 0-0 stalemate against Barking.

The Bees now sit 15th in the league table.
