SOUTHEND United right-back Osei Sankofa believes improved confidence is the reason behind the Shrimpers’ return to form.
Yesterday's 2-1 triumph at London Road made it 15 points from the last 18 available for Steve Tilson’s team.
And Sankofa is sure the improvements are all done to a more positive approach to matches.
“We’re going into games thinking we’re going to win now and I’m not sure that’s always been the case,” said the 23-year-old.
“Football is all about momentum and we’re on a good run at the moment so it’s winning that has become a habit.
“But we were in trouble a few weeks ago and it was hard to get out of the losing run but we’ve done that now and we’ve beaten some good sides in the last few weeks.
“We always knew we were a good side and now we are starting to show it.”
The latest victory came against a high-flying Peterborough team who are gunning for automatic promotion.
And Sankofa felt the victory was fully deserved.
“We had to weather an early storm from them but we recovered well from going a goal behind,” said the former Charlton Athletic defender. “We played well and this really is another excellent three points for us.
“We’ve beaten Scunthorpe and now Peterborough so we’re not afraid of anyone at this level.
“At the same time we aren’t getting carried away and the first target we’re chasing is to get to 50 points.”
