OSEI Sankofa wants to soon start feeling like a footballer again by replacing Sean Morrison in the Southend United starting line up.
Morrison’s return to Swindon Town on the completion of his loan spell has opened up an opportunity for Sankofa in the Blues’ back four.
And it is one the defender hopes to take at Huddersfield Town this weekend, if the weather allows.
“Touch wood I will get an opportunity to play because I’ve had a few problems this season,” said Sankofa, who missed 10 weeks of action with a knee problem earlier on this term.
“My injury is fine again now but it’s been extremely frustrating lately because of the weather.
“We haven’t played since the end of December and we haven’t really been able to train properly either.
“We’ve been in the gym and have been doing spinning sessions on the bikes.
“It feels like we’re on a summer break just with the weather being 10 times worse and I can’t even remember the last time I kicked a ball.
“I don’t really feel like a footballer at the moment.”
