STRIKER Isaac Layne has joined Scottish Championship club Alloa Athletic on a free transfer from Southend United.
Layne joined the Shrimpers from Billericay Town at the start of the season but failed to make a single appearance for the first team.
And boss Phil Brown has now allowed him to leave.
“I think this is a great move for Isaac,” said the Blues boss.
“If I'm honest I don't know what the standard is like in the Scottish leagues but he was watched by them in our under 21 game at Brighton in the week.
“Going there, he has a chance of playing at Hampden Park because they're in cup final and they still have Rangers to play away from home too so it's a big move and we wish him well.”
