SOUTHEND United have signed Arsenal midfielder Glen Kamara on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old started his career in the Shrimpers youth system.
And Blues boss Phil Brown is delighted to be bringing Kamara back to Roots Hall.
“We have been chasing Glen for about six weeks now and I’m very pleased to have got the deal done,” said Brown.
“It stopped for a little while when Ben Coker got injured and we had to concentrate on bringing in a left-back.
“But the opportunity presented itself yesterday to get the deal done and, just like the others players we have brought in, I think it will help us improve significantly.”
Kamara left the Shrimpers in 2012 to join Arsenal and made his debut for the Gunners against Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup earlier this season.
