BLUES boss Paul Sturrock will not be offering contracts to Izale McLeod or Elvis Hammond.
The duo both played as trialists for Southend’s reserves at Oxford United on Wednesday night.
But their futures lie away from Roots Hall.
“They’re not good enough and not to the standard I want to bring to the football club,” explained Sturrock.
McLeod, who plays as a striker, has previously been with MK Dons and Charlton Athletic while winger Hammond was with Cheltenham Town last season.
