Notice of Competitive Tender Step Down Bed Services (Reference SE1376)

Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks expressions of interest for the provision of residential care facilities (Step Down Beds) for standard and high dependency care to assist in the phased discharge of patients who are medically fit to leave hospital, but need a short period of continued support prior to moving to long term arrangements.
The Trust will be seeking offers under a framework agreement (spot purchase basis) for the provision of Step Down Bed Services from Care Homes within a 5 miles radius of the Hospital site, and only from homes that are registered with either Essex County Council or Southend Borough Council.
It is anticipated that the framework contract will be awarded to a max. 10 Care Homes to cover the period of 1st April 2014 to 31^st March 2015 with a possible option to extend for up to 12 months.
