Very sorry to hear Mark has passed away.

I have not seen Mark for probably 30 years but have many happy memories of riding on the back of his various motorbikes in the early 80s, including riding up to Stevenage on Charles and Di's wedding day back in 1981 on his Honda red CB250RS. In later years in his Ford Cortina and also 'rolling' is his Reliant Robin!! - Fortunately we were not hurt.

Although I was a few years younger than Mark and still at school, he was always happy to buy me a beer ( a bit naughty as under age - but it was the 80s) when I had no money - I remember often going to The Ship pub on Southend seafront (knocked down now) on a Sunday evening and playing pool and drinking pints of Forsters with Peter French.

Mark let me ride the my first 14 speed racing bike (Mark's), my first motorbike (Mark's), my first time on the back of a motorbike (Mark's) and the first time I drove a car (Mark's). I can remember them all so clearly and all of them such important moments growing up, so although I have not seen Mark in 30 years he had a permanent and happy impact on my teenage years.

Once again my deepest condolences.

Paul Brown (used to live at 82 Saxon Gardens (Gilman Drive)), now living with my family in Brighton.
