FRANCIS Rachel (Rae) Rachel Francis (Rae) 88, passed away peacefully on 19th January. She was married to Des, who predeceased her, and was mother to Andy and Jon. Rae was well known in Benfleet and Pitsea as a teacher and headteacher. Her first school as Headteacher was Montgomery Infant School in Benfleet, in the 1970's, a new and revolutionary school at that time. She then became Head of Eversley Primary School in Pitsea. Eversley was another brand new school where she worked until her retirement in the late 1990's. She was very active in the community; singing in the local choir, bell-ringing, organising an indoor bowls team and running Benfleet Methodist Wives Club for many years. She will be missed by all her family and friends. The funeral is to be arranged by T Cribb and Sons, Benfleet. Any donations to Parkinson's UK
