AN exciting blend of soul, jazz and African roots comes to the Maritime Room this week as the Jazz Mix returns with a visit from Ola Onabule.

The British-Nigerian singer-songwriter, musician and producer will be onstage at the popular jazz night along with his seven piece band for a night of music.

“One of the most exciting singers on the jazz/soul circuit, Ola combines the sophistication of modern soul music with the power of his African roots,” says Jazz Mix promoter Mick Crook.

“A charismatic vocalist, Ola has put together a set of really brilliant original material alongside classic soul and R&B songs, captivating his audiences in a show full of passion, joy and humour.”

Ola has written and recorded nine albums on his own Rugged Ram record label, with his most recent offering, Seven Shades Darker, released this year and winning itself accolades.
