ICE cream sandwiches are selling like hot cakes at an ice cream shop in Leigh.
The sandwiches have often sold out since Poco Gelato in Elm Road began selling them last month.
They are made of two chocolate chip cookies with a filling of ice cream.
Owner Lucy Donnelly, 40, who has run the shop with her brother Joe, 38, forayear, said; “People can’t get enough of them. We’ve sold so many of the sandwiches.
“We make all our own ice cream from organic milk and fruit. We also sell Belgian waffles and coffee, but people come here for our gelato.
“Joe and I work well together.”
Their best selling flavours are honeycomb and vanilla bean. More unusual but popular flavours include salty caramel and Mexican chilli chocolate
