DETECTIVES investigating an assault that left a teenager with a fractured cheekbone have released more information.
The 18-year-old victim was in Hockley Road, Rayleigh, near to the Hambro Hill mini roundabout, when he was approached by a group of about six men.
He was pushed in the chest before being hit around the head with a glass bottle.
The victim, who is from Rayleigh, was taken to Southend Hospital with bruising and swelling to his left cheek and eye socket, and it was later discovered that he had suffered a fracture.
Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, which happened at about 4.25am on Sunday, August 4.
One of the suspects was wearing a baseball cap, dark trousers and a dark hoody.
