AIR ambulance landed at a Southend golf club.
Ambulance crews were called at 3pm to Garon Park Golf Complex and sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance and the air ambulance after a man collapsed at his home address.
The helicopter landed about ten feet from the green and crowds of people soon gathered.
The man, in his 40s, was taken by land, with an air escort, to Southend Hospital.
One witness, who was driving to Shoebury along Royal Artillery Way, described seeing the ambulance trying to land.
He said: “It flew past me then it started dropping and was about 20 metres up. It was 50ft from the road trying to land in the field.”
