A MAN was sent to prison for almost six months after breaching an order banning him from seeing his dad.
In January 2011, Christopher French, 24, was banned from going to his father’s home on Highcliffe Close, Wickford.
His dad called the police after French repeatedly rang the bell on the front door of house, at about midnight on July 5.
French, of Cecil Court, Jones Close, Southend, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment by breaching a restraining order.
He also admitted having a blade in a public place after officers discovered a black-handled kitchen knife when they searched him at the Ladygate Centre, on Wickford High Street, on July 12.
At Basildon Magistrates’ Court, French pleaded guilty to theft, after stealing a tuna salad from Tesco Express in Southend Road, Wickford, on July 11.
He was given an 18-week prison sentence for breaching the restraining order and a nine week sentence for carrying the knife.
They will run consecutively, meaning French will face 27 weeks behind bars.
