AFTER a week of fun, Southend is gearing up for an illuminated parade to mark the end of the carnival celebrations.
Tomorrow’s Southend Carnival Grand Illuminated Parade will feature a variety of floats and vehicles, as well as walkers, majorettes and dancers.
It will leave the Chalkwell Shelter at 7.45pm, and head along the seafront, Chalkwell Esplanade, The Leas, Westcliff, Western Esplanade and Marine Parade, ending at the junction of Victoria Road and Eastern Esplanade at about 10pm.
Prizes will be awarded for the best carnival queen float, best majorette group, best overall entry, best youth group entry, and best entry from Southend.
Stewards and those in the procession will be collecting for charity.
Don't miss Monday's Echo for 8 pages of pictures from the event.
