ESSEX is not a likely destination for the controversial “fracking” method of gas extraction from the ground.
The Liberal Democrats on Essex County Council asked whether the county was earmarked for the process.
An officer told them the British Geological Society has said there aren’t “exploitable deposits” in the area.
The method involves boring holes into the ground in order to obtain gas, or oil.
