A MAN broke a £500 window at Rochford Library during an angry incident, a court heard.
Jack Royce, 18, was arrested in the early hours of June 26 after breaking the window, Southend Magistrates Court heard.
Royce, of Roche Close, Rochford, swung a chair at the window and smashed it. He also shouted and swore at police.
He admitted criminal damage and using threatening words or behaviour.
The court gave him a six-month community order which includes a ban on going out between 7am and 7pm for the next three months.
He was also ordered to pay £500 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge.
