Essex student survives first Great British Bake Off battle
AN Essex student was one of a baker's dozen of contestants who attempted to cook up tasty treats last night as the fourth series of The Great British Bake Off returned.
Along with the other bakers, Ruby, 20 , a History of Art and Philosophy student, had to make a sandwich cake, angel food cake and chocolate showstopper.
She made a rhubarb and custard sandwich cake, an angel food cake and a chocolate and ginger cake.
The next show will be broadcast at 8pm on Tuesday, September 3, on BBC Two.
