A MAN from Benfleet has been arrested in connection with a murder in Kent.
Gary Pocock’s half-naked body was discovered on a beach, in Leysdown, on the Isle of Sheppey, at around 6am on August 7.
Two men, aged 44 and 20, from Manor Park, London, a 20-year-old man, from Benfleet, a 15-year-old boy and 19-year-old man, from Warden, Sheppey, are being questioned by Kent Police in connection with the death.
Mr Pocock’s body, was found stripped from the waist down between the Little Groves caravan site and the Isle of Sheppey Holiday Village.
A post-mortem examination found the 34-year-old died from significant head injuries.
Three people arrested after Mr Pocock's body was found were released without charge.
Police said Mr Pocock was known to have spent a lot of time on the Isle of Sheppey. Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
